In 1984 at the age of 10 I began art classes in Escuela de Artes Visuales Miguel Pou in Ponce, Puerto Rico with the international recognized artist Jesus Ortiz and others.​ In 1985 at the age of 11, I participated in my first collective art exhibition, placed in the Instituto de Cultura de Puerto Rico in Old San Juan.​
